Chinese broke in to building and got apprehended by Tatsuya and Co (Well mostly Tatsuya). It really shows the difference between our imagination and the animation. I've had a problem with the laid-back atmosphere of the anime for a while now. Visually, the emission of psions was great and all but again, it lacked that atmosphere. I was waiting for that period of stunned silence after karate chop Tatsuya and I do agree that while they did show it, it lacked the atmosphere I thought would go along with. Though it probably would have made no sense, I think they actually should have animated storms and lightening descending onto Tatsuya, together with earthquakes and a stunned silence between the fading of the light and Miyuki's "Go forth and conquer" line.īut that is ALOT to ask for, and it may be asking too much. There was no sense of dread, of a god descending upon the battlefield. Again they sort of show it, but I think it could have been better done (I would have had Erika literally bouncing with blood lusting excitement in most scenes).Īs for the final scene, visually it was good, but again I don't think they conveyed the feeling of the text. Same when Tatsuya asked Miyuki to silence the guns, or in really capturing that Erika really wants to fight. It was sort of captured here, but the shock I think wasn't, they needed to have a pause between the action and her speaking. For example when he does the catching and chopping, the entire room was supposed to have been in shocked silence, with only Miyuki's casual "oh, let me clear the blood" breaking the silence.
#Mahouka translations series
It's hard to blame madhouse because showing what people are only thinking is difficult for even live action (let alone animation), but throughout this series they haven't done a good job at expressing the fear that people have when Tatsuya does his stuff. It seems to have been underwhelming for some people though so I wonder what you'll think. The psion show was really bright and the sound effects were cool. Even in a bad translation, the description has power. That is a direct reference that Tatsuya is based on Shiva. The conqueror has come, armored by the storms and commanding lightning.Īlthough that violent array of light retracted, the voluminous psions still swirled calmly around him.Īnyone would have lurched one or two steps away from Tatsuya, but Miyuki only smiled benignly, lifted her dress and dropped into a deep curtsey. Staggeringly active psions coursed around him. Tatsuya opened his eyes and rose to his feet. These were no photons, but psions wrapped in physical light. There are of course other ways to work around this (use an unencrypted version of the game and avoid kuio's overhead entirely), but that would mean limiting it only for that specific platform, which I don't plan on supporting. After his sister's lips departed, the hands pressed against his face fell away and Tatsuya bowed his head once more.Ī violent array of photons, enough to sear the eyes, burst from Tatsuya's body. Currently with 98% eboot text translated to english, the game takes almost 5 minutes to boot up.

So, to work around this issue, Davee recommended I use the kuio plugin or something of that nature which bypasses the game's limited permissions.ĭue to how kuio works, there is a large overhead when reading/writing files. To sum it up, encrypted games do not have permissions to read/write from/to ux0, our target storage device. Turns out, encrypted games do not have permissions to read/write from any other storage device (ex: ux0) if they have not already been given permission and plugins use the same permissions as the parent process (the encrypted game). Thanks to some help by Davee, I've managed to solve the issue with text not being injected on encrypted versions (physical copies). xyz - For giving me help and pointers when I was creating OoE-Plugin.Neoaga - For translating some Japanese text into English in the project's immature state. No need to mess with files in a hex editor anymore. Description: Script to make converting.json files that were deconstructed from binary files. Makes translating binary files streamlined and clean. Description: Contains scripts to convert binary files containing Japanese text to.Description: Parses json to bin for text embedded inside the game's eboot.bin file.(This should technically support other games as well, although with a couple of tweaks.) Description: A plugin to replace the Japanese text in the game's eboot.bin file.

The last issue to tackle now, is for the game to actually be translated into English.
